  • The advertisement was aired on Television, published onto Social Media websites, etc. Their graphic advertising the campaign was also published onto their stores advertising the campaign

  • The campaign was advertised worldwide as H&M is a multi-national store- hence, their advertisements being advertised on their main social media sites such as YouTube and not on the account specific to a country's.

H&M'S Conscious: Bring it on
In H&M's advert, they encourage shoppers and people in  general to bring their old clothes that they don't wear or need anymore to their shop instead of throwing them away to encourage a green and sustainable environment.

The advert has a self-perception message where the advert shows what the world can be like if we all encouraged a green environment. Here, the advert contrasts two scenes: a factory where the clothes are being compressed and their materials being recycled. You can see this scene in a dark, and dull environment. However, the advert then progresses and you see a woman standing in a green environment with new clothes. This is supposed to show the impact of what recycling their clothes has done for other people and the environment and what their good has done.

This message is effective in encouraging people to shop at H&M's store as it shows that trying to encourage a green and sustainable environment. This will improve the reputation of the store as they're showing they're going green to help the environment and further encourage new shoppers to the store.

In 2019's H&M's advert, it further encourages the message of going green and recycling their old clothes that they don't need anymore to help the environment and go green.

Due to this trend in H&M's their message is clearly trying to encourage  audiences to go green and help the environment. In their adverts, they show what impact people's good can do for the environment and even other people.

H&M'S Conscious: Bring it on (2017)

The point of H&M's campaign is to make people aspire to be like those shown in the advert. The advert shows real-life people recycling their clothes and helping other people. This is evident where a person is shown standing in the center of a green field.

This shows the impact that this woman has been able to have on the environment- by recycling/buying recycled her clothes, the woman has helped the environment and has created a sustainable living for  herself. By seeing the impact and good that she has done for the environment, other people will inspire to be like her and have an impact on creating a sustainable environment.
In this scene, they show the characters with a relaxed and at peace look. This scene is suggesting that the characters can relax in more greener spaces due to the good they did with the environment. The characters look happier and relaxed  as they're in a greater living green environment.
The H&M advert presents to the viewer regular. everyday people that would be shopping at the store. They represent characters such as: a couple, characters enjoying themselves together, etc. The characters shown and presented are all relatable and real characters that the people watching the advert can relate to.

Like the McDonald's advert, they are shopping and H&M, a relatively cheap retailer. This proves this as in the advertisement the people shown are regular people doing things that the people watching the advert would do such as: partying, eating out, etc.

In the advertisement, the advert shows people doing things together which regular people watching the advert may do. This is a key selling point in the advert to attempt to sway people's opinions as they represent the people in a realistic sense. Due to this, people won't feel secluded and feel more welcome to shop and take part in the campaign.
